Welcome to the LYMM PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY's Website. Thanks for dropping in and spending some time with us. We've plenty of things of interest here.
The Lymm Photographic Society (LPS) is the (still reasonably new but growing strongly) camera club serving Lymm village and the surrounding area. Our first meeting was in September 2010. As the club has grown we have now moved from monthly to fortnightly meetings (as a result of the high level of interest, support and attendance from villagers and the surrounding area).
More about us
We're a friendly bunch of enthusiasts who have formed a group/society for people of all ages and all abilities, who are interested in photography. This is a community group, which meets in the heart of Lymm village, for anyone who wants to enjoy & improve their photographic skills.
So we are: * Open to everyone in the Lymm area, of whatever age & * Open to all levels of experience from beginners upwards
Everyone is welcome to just come along to any of our meetings and take a look, and there will be slide shows at most meetings for your entertainment. The more people that join, the more fun we can have.
The club provides a great opportunity to everyone, of whatever level of photography (especially none!), to: * learn * share knowledge * swap ideas * meet people.... and most of to * have fun
What we do from meeting to meeting is decided by the members. As the club has grown, we've been able to build exciting meeting programmes that offer: * Technical talks * More slideshows of members’ photos * Invited speakers * Discussions on society matters * Exhibitions * Trips * Informal chat and socialising for sharing knowledge and ideas so that the more experienced can pass on what they know to the less experienced
And a word about competitions....... When we hold our few friendly and informal competitions amongst ourselves, they are open for any member to enter. They are either judged by us, the members or empathetic outside experts who can offer really useful critique.
So, we are a very friendly and informal group. Why not come along one evening and see for yourself? You will be most welcome and we’d be very pleased to hear what you would like your village photography group to be doing. See more information about Taster meetings here. Oh, and everyone is welcome to join us downstairs for a drink after meetings -everyone welcome.
LPS is grateful to the Parish Council for its grant towards the club projector.
